Just a few hours ago, 20th Century Fox dropped the all-new trailer forX-Men: Apocalypse, unleashing never-before-seen footage from this mutant blockbuster. Now, Empire Magazine has unveiled the multiple covers from their upcoming X-Men themed issue. These 9 different covers interlock to show one epic image of the title villain and his Four Horsemen battling Professor X, Raven and their team of New Mutants.

The first cover shows Alexandra Shipp as Storm and Ben Hardy as Angel, while the second cover shows Michael Fassbender. Together, they are 3/4s of the Four Horsemen. Oscar Isaac appears as the villainous Apocalypse in the third cover. James McAvoy is Professor X on the fourth cover. The fifth cover shows newcomer Sophie Turner as Jean Grey. The sixth cover has Kodi Smit-McPhee's Nightcrawler flying solo. Tye Sheridan's Cyclops teams up with Nicholas Hoult as Beast on the seventh cover. The eighth cover shows Rose Byrne in her new X-men uniform, standing alongside the Fourth Horsemen Psylocke, played by Olivia Munn. And the final cover has fan favorites Jennifer Lawrence as Raven and Evan Peters as Quicksilver.
Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-Men: Apocalypse. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign.
As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction. There have been rumors that Hugh Jackman may show up as Wolverine, but that has not been confirmed at this time. The actor will portray the character for one last time in next year's Wolverine 3, hitting theaters March 3, 2017. Bryan Singer is directing from a script bySimon Kinberg, based on a story the director and screenwriter crafted together with Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty, who co-wrote the script for X2: X-Men: United.
20th Century Fox has slated X-Men: Apocalypse for release on May 27, 2016, putting it up against yet another sequel, Disney's Alice Through the Looking Glass. This latest X-Men movie will close out the prequel trilogy that includes X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past. It takes place in the 1980s, playing on the fears of nuclear annihilation and the ideas and ideology that was in play during the decade. You can expect President Reagan to make a cameo. And there will be other fun Easter egg surprises from the era.
Following the success of their spinoff Deadpool earlier this year, 20th Century Fox will start production on Gambit in 2016, and the studio is also developing The New Mutants and X-Force, although it isn't known when production will begin on those projects. There have also been rumors that director Bryan Singer will come back to direct X-Men 7, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. You can check out the 9 new covers, along with the trailer incase you missed it earlier today. We also have a fresh image of Psylocke.
