Jennifer Aniston & Jason Bateman Reunite for ‘Office Christmas Party’

Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman, who shared the big screen in the 2010 comedy The Switch before reuniting in both Horrible Bosses and Horrible Bosses 2, are set to reunite once again with a new comedy project entitled Office Christmas Party. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that T.J. Miller and Kate McKinnon have also signed on to star in unspecified roles.
This project has been in development for nearly six years, when it was first set up by The Switch directors Will Speck and Josh Gordon, but now it looks like it's finally moving forward. We first reported on the project back in August 2010, when Will Speck and Josh Gordon signed on to direct a then-untitled holiday comedy that was being written by The Hangover writing team of Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. A number of writers and actors have been attached since then, but the most recent draft was written by Gene Stupnitsky & Lee Eisenberg (Year One), along with Laura Solon (Hot in Cleveland). After being stuck in development for so long, it seems this comedy movie is now on the fast track. While no details were given for any of the cast members' characters, the project is set to begin production this spring in Atlanta, with Paramount Pictures already setting a December 9, 2016 release date. The movie will go up against Universal's Let It Snow on December 9, and it will also open one week before the highly-anticipated Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The story centers on a group of co-workers whose Office Christmas Party has gone awry. Scott Stuber, Guymon Casady and Daniel Rappaport are producing, with Will Speck and Josh Gordon serving as executive producers. Paramount will distribute the movie domestically, with Mister Smith Entertainment distributing in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Reliance, will distribute the film in India while Entertainment One (eOne) handles the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Australia and New Zealand. Jennifer Aniston most recently starred in Cake and Unity and She's Funny That Way, and she will next be seen in Mother's Day, arriving April 29. Jason Bateman starred in last year's critically-acclaimed thriller The Gift, and he provides the voice of Nick Wilde in the animated comedy Zootopia, hitting theaters March 4. T.J. Miller can currently be seen as Weasel in Deadpool, and his HBO comedy series Silicon Valley returns for its third season this April. Kate McKinnon currently stars on Saturday Night Live, and she also lends her voice to The Angry Birds Movie, in theaters May 20. She also stars as one of the main characters in Sony's Ghostbusters reboot, arriving July 15.
